I’m a British artist living and working in Brittany, France, having moved here from Wales in 1994. Since then I have been painting the local landscape, drawing portraits and selling my artwork as a professional artist/portraitist. My work is predominantly in watercolour. For landscapes I like to combine impressionism with the traditional English style. I am inspired by Brittany’s rich cultural heritage and its ancient Celtic links to Wales. My paintings depict the picturesque market towns and fishing villages of the region, reflecting a simple and rural lifestyle. I am also accomplished in portraiture and, along with my easel and mobile gallery, I have travelled many market places and trade fairs throughout Brittany drawing portraits and accepting commissions in pencil, sanguine and watercolour.
